Poor Jan Brady. Wherever she is she’s gotta be pissed, because her TV big sister Marsha is back in the spotlight. Maureen McCormick, who starred as Marsha Brady on “The Brady Bunch,” has written an autobiography, “Here’s the Story: Surviving Marcia Brady and Finding my True Voice.”
In the book McCormick talks about just how far from a Brady life she had. From her parents marital problems to her cocaine addiction, “Here’s the Story” tears down yet another one of my perfectly good childhood illusions about happiness as portrayed on the small screen. Seriously, read this as a companion piece to Jody Sweetin’s memoir and you’ll never want Hollywood to shoot a sitcom with a house full of happy people again. Something about making wholesome television is really fucking these people up.
