No Lesbian Love Lost between Marsha and Jan Brady

Maureen McCormick, who played heartthrob Marsha Brady on The Brady Bunch, made a joke a few years ago, implying that she and Eve Plumb, who played Jan Brady, had a lesbian affair. McCormick says she was just going for laughs and shock value, but isn’t sure Plumb took it the same way. Ever since then, Plumb, who was formerly McCormick’s best friend, has been distant. Oprah Winfrey has invited all the Brady kids onto her show for a reunion in September. So far, everyone has accepted except for Plumb. McCormick wonders if it is because of the lesbian joke.
Apparently there was juicier dirt than same-sex fondling going on behind the scenes of the show and in its aftermath. McCormick dished it out in last year’s tell-all memoir Here’s the Story: Surviving Marcia Brady and Finding My True Voice. In it, she tells about abortions, dates with Michael Jackson and Steve Martin, as well as her struggles with drug abuse - “cocaine binges and parties at the Playboy Mansion and the home of Sammy Davis Jr.” Wow. What a visual.
McCormick has been blogging about Plumb and the other Brady kids on Fancast.com. It’s interesting stuff. She calls each cast member and finds out how they’ve been doing and what they’re up to. First she called Eve Plumb but got no answer. Then she called Mike Lookinland, who played Bobby, and Susie Olsen, who played Cindy. McCormick promises the next call will be to Barry Williams, who played Greg, and she will tell us all about it.
Will we ever get sick of hearing about the Bradys? And jeez, Eve, can’t you let a kid dream?!!
