jimi hendrix1 300x225 Jimi Hendrix New AlbumIn commemoration of the 40th anniversary of Jimi Hendrix’s death, a new 12-track album titled Valleys Of Neptune will be released on March 9th.

The album contains rarely heard and never commercially released tracks from the guitar legend’s last recording sessions of his career. This album release is part of a project to release all studio albums in commemoration of his death. According to Jimi’s sister Janie Hendrix:

“My brother Jimi was at home in the studio. Valleys of Neptune offers deep insight into his mastery of the recording process and demonstrates the fact that he was as unparalleled a recording innovator as he was a guitarist,” she told Rolling Stone. “His brilliance shines through on every one of these precious tracks.”

The album is said to contain at least one cover song, some originals and alternate recordings of classics like:  Stone Free, Red House and Fire.  Put it in your calendar, this is one album you don’t want to miss.
