Paramore Passed on “New Moon” Soundtrack

After the hugely successful movie Twilight burst onto the scene the soundtrack was on a rocket ship course straight to the top of the charts. The band Paramore enjoyed the ride with their power-pop song “Decode” on the track list.
However, when the studio asked Paramore to be on the soundtrack for New Moon, the band passed. Why? According to lead singer Hayley Williams:
“Honestly, I had a good time being a part of the first one,” said Hayley. ”They asked us if we wanted to do the second one, and I said no. I didn’t want to force anything. They did come to us really early, like before they knew if they would use it. We wanted it to be genuine.”
Hayley admits to being a huge fan of the books as well as the latest soundtrack which featured bands like Death Cab for Cutie and Bon Iver. She has not ruled out being a part of the next installment Eclipse “if it feels genuine”.
