Uga VII, the four-year-old bulldog who served as the mascot for the University of Georgia Bulldogs football team, died Thursday due to heart-related issues.
Athletic director Damon Evans said of the dog:
“Just as his ancestors, he had captured the hearts of college football fans everywhere as the country’s number one mascot. He had been truly embraced by all those who follow the Georgia Bulldogs across the country. We will miss him dearly.”
Nicknamed “Loran’s Best,” Uga VII became the school mascot in 2008 after the previous mascot, his father Uga VI, passed away.
I hope there are lots of bones in heaven.
