Obama’s Q&A with Republicans
Posted on 30. Jan, 2010 by fondue in Politics, Video
President Obama reminded America why we elected him when he spoke at at the House Republicans’ retreat on Friday.
During an hour-long question and answer session, Obama eloquently, logically, and diplomatically argued against the positions and complaints of House Republicans.
The President told his critics in the House that they’ve been unnecessarily cruel and overly hyperbolic in response to his health care reform proposals. Rep. Tom Price of Georgia asked, “What should we tell our constituents who know that Republicans have offered positive solutions [for health care] and yet continue to hear out of the administration that we’ve offered nothing?” Obama replied he’d read all the Republican health care proposals, but they promise things that cannot be realized. He also stated that the Republican proposals would require a raise in taxes, which his plan does not.
