Republican Leader in Hot Water with Naked Minor

Someone should tell this Republican that “family values” doesn’t mean “How much for your daughter?”
Rep. Kevin Garn, Utah’s House majority leader, has confessed he hot tubbed with a naked 15-year-old girl when he was almost 30 years old.
Garn was married at the time, and the girl, Cheryl Maher, was an employee of his.
The incident took place 25 years ago, but the crime continued on into the 21st century. In 2002, when Garn ran for Congress, he paid Maher, now 40, $150,000 in hush money and made her sign a nondisclosure agreement. Maher recently went public with the information anyway.
In his confession, Garn said:
“I expect to suffer public humiliation and embarrassment. Some lessons are hard to learn. This is something I should’ve done back in 2002 but I was scared. I did not want to be publicly judged by one of my life’s [worst mistakes].”
Among the committees Garn sits on in Congress are the Public Education Appropriations Subcommittee and the House Ethics Committee.
