Steve Harvey “Call to Action” Red Alert!
Posted on 19. Feb, 2009 by Munster in Scoopage

In a follow up to this story from yesterday, the guy to the left wants to be taken seriously. You might remember Steve Harvey from that time you were up at 3 am, drunk, alone, eating oreos, and watching Comedy Central. ORRR, you may know him from his “Urban Adult Contemporary” morning radio program, featuring such wily characters as Shirley Strawberry, Nephew Tommy, and Miles! Didn’t think so.
Luckily, while you were sleeping, I was listening diligently just in case Stevey made claims of media racism against the current U.S. President. In a remarkable turn of events, not only did he make claims, he put out an official Steve Harvey “Call to Action”. Beware, this is the actual call to action from Harvey’s website:

As you can clearly tell, this is no joke.
Harvey is upset by a political cartoon printed by the New York Post yesterday, which depicts a chimpanzee being shot dead by two police officers. One of the officers remarks, “Guess They’ll Have to Get Someone Else to Write the Stimulus Bill.” The message obviously, is that Washington is full of a bunch of monkeys. (This is “funny” because of that wacko chimp that got shot in Connecticut a couple of days ago.)
Harvey is demanding all of his fans/listeners/fanatic followers to call/write/email the New York Post until they remove the article from their website and apologize to the President, whom APPARENTLY is the victim of this cartoon. Of course, publicity-lover/wack-job Al Sharpton will be leading a protest outside of the NY Post’s headquarters tomorrow in Manhattan.
Is the cartoon racist? You decide. Then let your voice be heard in the comments below! YAY!

Also, let’s not piss off the chimps too much.
Thanks for making epk.com your #1 choice for media racism news & analysis!

I call on President Obama to put a STOP to white racist bullies! The WORLD is tired of them and is reacting to them by using terrorism as a weapon to fight back. That’s the only reason terrorism was born and lives – it’s a means for people who aren’t power-able to fight the evils of White Peoples’ racism.
This cartoon just goes to show that’s how White people treat those who really try to help them – they stab you in the HEART.
The one they should have impeached or shot – President Bush – they grinned and bore it. You see, as long as you are WHITE, you can kill my children, steal my money, bankrupt my COUNTRY, destroy my future, lie to me and tell me to go to HELL; and it’s acceptable.
Well that comment is pretty uplifting
I think the cartoonist was referring to the bill, that -in his opinion- was probably written by a chimp.
However, the comparison to the president (the author of the bill) is too obvious to miss.
It shouldn’t have been published.

I am white and I don’t agree with the cartoon.
I do take offense to your racist remarks. Not all white people are the same, you know…
I can see how it would come off as racist. But…the most racist one here is Val O. Blah blah blah…KILL WHITEY! WHITEYS THE DEVIL! ALL WHITE PEOPLE DO IS SERVE THE ANTICHRIST AND RAPE MY CHILDREN OF CORRESPONDING GENDER!…blah blah blah Jesus Christ. People like you are why modern racism is alive and well. Its just as racist for you to hate us as it is for us to hate you (which by the way, before you event start, I don’t. I just want people to stop this stupidity.)
Perhaps the author was pointing out the stupidity in racism? I’ve not seen one comment on this saying anything other than the guy being racist for making the cartoon. Perhaps you’re the racist, and that’s why it seems racist.
That is the biggest crock of s''''''t that I have read so far. It's in black and white; racism plain and simple.
The cartoonist is racist; referred to the president of the united states as a monkey. Either you are stupid or racist or maybe you are stupid and racist.
kinda f***ed but i still don’t think it should have been published henry x is right black people are racist and white people are racist this shit is gonna go on forever till were done mixing and all thats left is one color but what ever
Wow, this is retarded. Val, you make me sad. Racism is not simply a black/white issue. Some of the worst offenders in the world regarding racism tend to come from asian countries. I won’t deign to speak on why this is, but the important part is that we should know better by now. Politicians have always been compared to monkeys. I could see racial motivation if it were a caricature of Obama, which it is clearly not. There are always going to be idiots, like Val, like Steve Harvey, overly sensitive people who refuse to think before making an emphatic argument.
Oh, by the way, Val, you can’t be white. Look at the way you write, “the world is tired of THEM….the evils of White Peoples racism….that’s how White People treat those who try to help them….they grinned and bore it…as long as you are WHITE, you can kill MY children”…etc, etc.
As far as I’m concerned, white people also voted Obama into office. We also want to change. Also, that bullshit little paragraph at the end….I think you are talking about politicians, champ.
In the end, you must be a bitter, unreasonable, depressed, unhappy individual, and I would appreciate it if you would remove yourself from the gene pool, we can do without bigots like you. You fail.
It might be incredibly racist, but we live in a country with free speech. I know that I’m going to get a lot of shit for this, but despite being in poor taste it complies with every decency law in the country. In honor of our first amendment and the bill of rights (the only amazing thing our country’s had from the start), the New York Post should apologize for any misconstrued thoughts, have the artist write a statement explaining what the piece was about when he wrote it, and just take a deep breath and get over it. We don’t live in a totalitarian government, and we need to be thankful and exercise that right everyday. Just because it offends you doesn’t mean it’s evil.
and for f***’s sake, val, get your head out of your ass and look at how racist you are. Yeah, white people suck, we’ve oppressed you, shackled your rights, yadda yadda yadda. If you actually want to make progress on racism, examine yourself first. But honestly, just because I’m white means I’m ‘killing your babies’? sheesh. If you’re using that logic, because you’re black your robbing stores and selling crack to elementary school students. I volunteer two days a week at an infant ICU. What the fuck are you doing for your community?
Probably writing angry racist blog posts.
Clair W. Thank you for saying it. You got to the point before anyone else. Seriously anyone who has the gall to say “I call on President Obama to put a STOP to white racist bullies!” obviously has no idea how our system of government works. I am glad something as stupid as this cartoon got published. I for one would rather be offended everyday then to live in the Orwellian 1984 that our friend of color would have us live in. Sure racism is stupid but as an American you have the right. None of our founding documents have ever guaranteed me the right to not be offended. As a matter of fact the exact opposite.
Hans, the president isn’t the author of the bill. All spending bills must originate from the House of Representatives, and the preisdent isn’t a meber of that branch of government. If the dead chimp represents anyone, it would be Nancy Pellosi, not P-B.O.
As for everyone else. . . why the big uproar? I thought the cartoonist had every right to exercize his first amendment rights as anyone else, right? Seems to me that those that are calling for the censorship of, and apology for this artistic rendering are the oppressive fascists that we should be fearing!
Okay, let me just remind everyone of political science that’s taught in elementary schools:
THE PRESIDENT DOES NOT WRITE LAWS
Checks and Balances, people. Does this sound familiar? It’s the system used by a number of political bodies, from Australia, the European Union, the United Kingdom, Venezuela, Taiwan, and others, the most important of which is the United States of America. In this system, the life of a law can be simplified as created and approved by legislative wing (Congress), passed over to the executive wing (President) to be approved or denied, and if approved is handed over to the judicial wing (Supreme Court) to be determined whether the proposed law or bill is constitutional. So what does this all mean? Anyone under the impression that the chimp depicted in the cartoon in any way shape or form represents Pres. Obama is wrong. I for one hopes that the New York Post does not remove the cartoon.
Furthermore, in regards to a black person being represented as an chimpanzee or other (non-human) primate, why does this only apply to black people? No one went into a fit over racism when Pres. Bush Jr. was portrayed as or called such. That very distinction sound like racism in itself, assuming that every human being is equal regardless of skin color.
oh PLEASE…..wake up and smell the coffee
Pure Racism
